126, 132 & 134 Laird Drive

A proposal for two midrise, mixed-use buildings along Laird Drive in Leaside. We invite you to learn more here and share your thoughts with our team.

The Site & Neighbourhood

126, 132 and 134 Laird Drive is located on the west side of Laird Drive, south of Eglinton Avenue East, in the Leaside neighbourhood. It is currently occupied by car dealerships, an auto service centre, and surface parking lots.

This site will soon be a short walk to Laird Station, a stop on the Eglinton LRT line at the intersection of Laird Drive and Eglinton Avenue East, which is expected to be completed in 2022.

On the east side of Laird there are two commercial plazas, several grocery stores, restaurants and other shops. A number of parks and green spaces exist nearby as well, such as Lower Don Parklands and Sunnybrook Park, with access to the city’s trail and ravine systems.

Given the transit accessibility, abundance of local amenities, and sense of community, we see great potential to transform the site into a welcoming and connected place to live.

The Project

This project will add two unique midrise, mixed-use buildings to the neighbourhood. These new buildings will include live/work units at ground-level along Laird Drive, townhouse units with access off of Stickney Avenue, and a mix of one, two and three bedroom units on the upper levels.

Given that the Eglinton LRT is almost complete, these buildings will contribute to Leaside and Laird Drive becoming a transit-oriented, walkable neighbourhood with a vibrant street front and dynamic public realm. This includes wider sidewalks along Laird and attractive landscaped elements along Stickney Avenue.

The project will incorporate geothermal energy systems and other sustainability features. Through high quality design, we are aiming to create both attractive and energy efficient buildings for future residents to call home.
